Who can take part

  • You can join one of these groups: idiopathic scoliosis, degenerative scoliosis, or a matched healthy control
  • Your scoliosis diagnosis must be the right type (idiopathic or degenerative) with curve size over 10 degrees
  • You must meet the age rules (18+ for idiopathic and healthy; 45+ for degenerative)
  • You must be able to speak English well enough to complete questionnaires and exams
  • You should not have had spine surgery, major spine/torso or leg problems, or recent surgery/trauma
  • You cannot be pregnant, or have given birth in the last 0–2 years
