- You have been diagnosed with tuberculosis (lungs or other body areas).
- You are starting tuberculosis treatment for the first time or it has just started.

- A doctor has decided you should begin tuberculosis medicines.
- You are not already on tuberculosis treatment for more than 7 days at the time you join.
- You are willing to take part, and you are not in another research study at the same time.
