Who can take part
- You have been told by a doctor that you have cirrhosis (scarring of the liver).
- You do not have chronic (long-term) hepatitis B or C.
- Your cirrhosis is 'compensated' — meaning you have not had recent bleeding from veins in your food pipe, uncontrolled fluid in your belly, or confusion from liver problems, and your liver function score (Child-Pugh) is 8 or lower.
- You are between 40 and 79 years old.
- Your doctor expects you to live at least another year.
- You have not already been treated for liver cancer (HCC) and there is no suspicion of liver cancer right now.
