Who can take part
- You must be 18 to 75 years old.
- You have stomach cancer proven by biopsy, stage III, and the tumor must be removable with planned radical (curative) surgery.
- You have not had any prior cancer treatment that affects the whole body (no prior chemo, immunotherapy, radiation, or systemic therapy).
- Your general health should be good (ECOG 0–1), and you’re expected to live more than 6 months.
- You must have blood counts and organ function that are high enough for treatment (for example, adequate white blood cells, platelets, hemoglobin, and kidney/liver function).
- You must be able and willing to take capecitabine by mouth (no swallowing problems or bowel blockage).
