Who can take part
- You have an age-related (degenerative) problem causing a spinal deformity in the mid-to-lower back
- You have surgery planned to correct the deformity
- Your surgery plan includes fusing at least 4 spinal levels
- The surgery includes hardware that is fixed to the pelvis
- Your surgery is with Dr. Elder or Dr. Fogelson
- You are able to come back to Mayo Clinic for follow-up checkups
