Who can take part

  • You are over 18 years old
  • Your spine problem is long-term (from birth, wear-and-tear, unknown cause, nerve/muscle issues, inflammation, or a past treatment) rather than from sudden injury
  • You can get full-body standing spine X-rays (front and side views) that include your entire spine
  • You plan to have your surgery within 6 months (or you can redo the measurements and questionnaires)
  • Your X-rays must meet one of these alignment limits, like poor back-to-hip alignment, significant scoliosis (side curve), or forward body tilt
  • Your surgery plan must use minimally invasive techniques over at least 3 spine levels, with certain screw-placement rules
