- You are an adult (age 18 or older).
- You are currently hospitalized for a viral lung infection.
- Your oxygen level is low enough to need supplemental oxygen (for example, SpO2 90% or less, or around 92% with breathing signs like fast breathing or extra breathing muscles).
- A chest X-ray or CT may show changes the study team considers compatible with viral lung infection (based on their judgment).
- When you are randomized (enrolled), you are still hypoxaemic and still need supplemental oxygen.
