Who can take part
- Be between 18 and 55 years old
- Be able to join a group based on your past respiratory virus history (no infection, mild infection, or past lower-lung infection that fully recovered)
- Not currently use tobacco (or have used it in the last 5 years, including vaping/e-cigarettes)
- Not be pregnant or breastfeeding
- Not have had antibiotics or a recent upper-respiratory cold in the last 4 weeks
- Have normal baseline lung tests (for those in the past lower-lung infection group), and no ongoing oxygen needs
