Who can take part
- You are 18 or older and have hepatocellular carcinoma (liver cancer).
- You had bleeding from swollen esophagus/stomach veins within the last 4 weeks that was successfully controlled by standard endoscopy.
- If your bleeding was from esophageal veins, the usual treatment was banding; if from stomach veins, it was glue injection.
- You can sign consent in writing and agree to follow study procedures.
- Your bleeding must be from varices (swollen veins), not another source in the gut.
- You do not have serious bleeding-safety problems that don’t improve with transfusions (high INR over 1.5 or very low platelets under 50,000).
