New prostate cancer treatment plus local therapy for metastatic cases

Metastatic Hormone-Sensitive Prostate Cancer (mHSPC)

Who can take part

  • Be age 18 or older and have prostate cancer confirmed on pathology (biopsy/surgery tissue).
  • Have metastatic disease shown on a bone scan (at least one bone spot); if only one bone spot, it must be confirmed by CT or MRI.
  • Have good day-to-day functioning (ECOG performance status 0–2).
  • Have not had prior hormone-blocking medicines like antiandrogens or GnRH shots (or you had them no more than 3 months ago).
  • Have adequate blood and organ tests (enough white blood cells, hemoglobin, platelets; kidney function; and acceptable liver function).
  • Be able to swallow apalutamide tablets whole and be willing to sign consent and follow study rules.
