Who can take part

  • You are 18 or older and can sign the consent form.
  • Your cancer is squamous cell carcinoma of the anal canal (a specific cancer type).
  • Your cancer has not spread to distant organs (stage I, II, IIIA, or IIIB).
  • You can have chemoradiation for cure and have at least one measurable area doctors can track.
  • You have a recent or stored biopsy sample available for research testing.
  • Your general strength is good (ECOG 0–1), and blood tests show your body can handle treatment (counts, liver/kidney function).
