Who can take part

  • Be between 18 and 75 years old
  • You must be able to understand the study and sign informed consent
  • Your hemoglobin must be at least 12 g/dl
  • Your HbA1c must be 10% or lower (HbA1c shows your average blood sugar)
  • You must not be pregnant or breastfeeding, and women who can become pregnant must use reliable birth control and agree to a pregnancy test
  • You should not have several scan-related or health exclusions, like severe claustrophobia or certain heart, lung, kidney, liver, cancer, or recent major heart problems
