This study uses a special full-body PET scan to see how two natural hormones, GIP and GLP-1, affect how your body uses sugar and moves blood. It includes healthy volunteers and people with type 2 diabetes who are on metformin only.

Who can take part
- Healthy volunteers: 23–50 years old, BMI 20–27, normal blood sugar (HbA1c below 42).
- People with type 2 diabetes: 23–60 years old, diagnosed for at least 3 months, on metformin only, with higher blood sugar (HbA1c above 53).
- Healthy controls for the diabetes group: 23–64 years old, normal blood sugar (HbA1c below 42).
- No anemia, kidney disease, or liver problems.
- No stomach or bowel surgery (except appendix or gallbladder removal), no major abdominal surgery.
- No smoking or nicotine products, no claustrophobia, not pregnant or planning pregnancy.
