Testing a blood marker to predict worsening lung mycobacterial disease

Who can take part

  • Be age 20 or older
  • Have lung symptoms and chest imaging, and meet the study’s lung mycobacteria (NTM) diagnosis criteria (or be in one of the specific comparison groups described below)
  • Be willing to provide sample(s) related to lung testing (such as sputum/culture results) and a blood test for the study marker
  • If you have pulmonary tuberculosis (TB), you must have culture-positive TB or typical TB lung findings to join the TB group
  • If you are a “healthy control,” you must be without the lung disease being studied
  • Do not have acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS)
