Who can take part

  • You will be having an upcoming surgery where the medical team records activity from inside the brain while you are awake.
  • During the surgery, you must be able to follow instructions for a planned task (simple movement/sensing task).
  • You should not have complete deafness.
  • You must not have a condition that, in the research team’s judgment, would prevent you from completing the task safely or correctly.
  • The surgical plan must allow the brain-recording part of the study to happen during your operation.
