Who can take part

  • You are age 18 or older (or the age of majority in your province).
  • You have a single-level lumbar isthmic spondylolisthesis and you need surgery for it.
  • Your surgery plan must fit one group: either front/side (an anterior or oblique approach) or back-only (posterior approach).
  • You can speak and understand English or French well enough for study visits.
  • You have not had any previous spinal surgery.
  • You do not have certain extra problems above or below the main level (like degenerative slipping or a pars defect) that would change the pattern.
