Who can take part

  • You have degenerative spondylolisthesis involving one or two spinal levels and you’re being considered for surgery
  • Your pain/leg symptoms happen with standing or walking and improve when you lie down, sit, or bend forward
  • Your symptoms have lasted more than 6 months and non-surgical care didn’t help enough
  • Your leg pain is at least as strong as your back pain when standing or walking
  • You can understand and speak English well enough to consent and fill out questionnaires (with or without an interpreter)
  • You should not have prior back surgery from the back side (except a prior microdiscectomy)
