Testing ultrasound and near-infrared light to predict brain bleeding

Who can take part

  • Be a preterm baby born at or before 27 weeks and 6 days of pregnancy
  • The baby must not have known genetic or birth (congenital) conditions that could affect heart or brain oxygen readings
  • There should be no known genetic or congenital problem expected to change how oxygen is measured
  • There must not be a comfort-only (palliative) care plan before or right after birth
