Abelacimab for atrial fibrillation when blood thinners aren’t suitable

Who can take part

  • You can read and sign a consent form for this study.
  • You have atrial fibrillation or atrial flutter confirmed on an ECG or heart monitor.
  • You are 65–74 with a high stroke-risk score, or age 75+ with a high stroke-risk score.
  • Your doctor has decided (before this study) that you’re not suitable for mouth blood thinners (because the bleeding risk is too high or you don’t want to take them).
  • You have at least one bleeding-risk reason (like severe kidney problems, frequent antiplatelet use, prior bleeding in a serious area, frailty, or falls).
  • Your doctor has also decided (before this study) that a left atrial appendage closure device isn’t suitable for you, or you won’t do the procedure.
