Who can take part

  • You must be an adult (18 or older) and willing to sign informed consent
  • You have thyroid cancer and your care team has approved treatment with iodine 131
  • You should be able to safely have the scan and have no reason you can’t do it
  • You must not be allergic to iodine 131 (or the capsule ingredients)
  • You must be able to lie still on your back during the scan
  • You must have health coverage through the social security system
