Who can take part
- You’re age 18 or older and having surgery for malignant mesothelioma with a specific BWH thoracic surgeon using HIOC.
- Your kidney function is not too low (eGFR is 45 or higher) and you’re not on dialysis/renal replacement therapy.
- Your magnesium level is not too high (serum magnesium must be 3 mg/dL or less) before surgery.
- You are not pregnant or breastfeeding.
- You do not have certain heart rhythm/conduction or heart disease history (like major coronary artery disease, very slow heart rate, or certain AV blocks without a pacemaker).
