  • Your child must be having heart surgery that uses a heart-lung machine (cardiopulmonary bypass).
  • Your child must not have kidney disease.
  • Your child must not already have an irregular heartbeat (arrhythmia).
  • Your child must not be taking medicine to control heart rhythm.
