This study looks at inflammation-related changes in people with “small-vessel disease” of the brain. It will follow participants over time to understand the condition better and see how brain symptoms may change.

Who can take part
- You are age 40 or older
- You can give written consent (or you have decision-making support if needed)
- You have symptoms linked to brain “small-vessel disease,” such as a lacunar stroke, memory/thinking problems, or walking/movement problems, supported by an MRI
- You are able to safely have MRI scans based on an MRI safety check (for example, no pacemaker/unsafe metal)
- You have not had a vaccination or a fever/serious infection in the past month
- Your stroke/symptoms are not from other major causes (like heart-related clot, or significant carotid artery narrowing)
