Who can take part
- You are over 18 years old.
- Your pre-surgery scan shows a tumor in the pancreas head area or nearby bile-duct/ampulla region that is planned for pancreaticoduodenectomy (Whipple-type surgery).
- The tumor does not appear to have spread to distant organs (no distant metastasis).
- There is no major blood-vessel involvement seen as “significant vascular invasion.”
- You have not had pre-surgery (preoperative) chemotherapy or other cancer treatment (adjuvant therapy).
- You can safely handle anesthesia and surgery based on heart, lung, and other organ function.
