Testing an eye drop to slow progression of childhood nearsightedness

Who can take part

  • Be between 5 years 6 months and 16 years 6 months old (and this study’s Phase 1 group is ages 13–16)
  • Have similar nearsightedness in both eyes within a specific range (not too mild, not too severe), plus limited astigmatism and unequal eye power
  • See at least 20/40 (with glasses or contacts that correct vision) in both eyes
  • Have specific cornea shape and enough corneal thickness (to safely use an eye drop and measurement devices)
  • Not have eye problems like cataract, glaucoma, uveitis, significant corneal scarring, or certain other eye/structural disorders
  • Not have used myopia eye treatments like atropine (or similar numbing/anti-muscarinic drops) recently, and not have had certain past eye surgeries or specific contact lens use right before screening
