Who can take part
- Be 18–55 years old if you are a healthy volunteer (healthy-volunteer group only).
- If you have anemia: hemoglobin (Hb) must be 100 g/L or lower on screening, and you must weigh at least 40 kg.
- Have normal iron status (healthy volunteers) OR for anemia: folate and vitamin B12 must be within the normal range.
- Have acceptable blood test results for liver health (ALT/AST and bilirubin) and no ongoing serious bleeding.
- Have no major heart/kidney problems, no active infection, and no recent major treatments that could interfere (like IV iron or certain medicines in the past month).
