Who can take part

  • You have a type of cancer that does not start in the bone marrow (non-myeloid cancer).
  • You are able to take care of yourself (ECOG score 0-2) and are expected to live at least 6 months.
  • Your average hemoglobin level from two tests (taken more than a week apart) is less than 10 g/dL, and the levels did not change much between tests.
  • Your liver and kidneys are working well enough (based on standard blood tests).
  • You have not had chemotherapy, radiation, or other treatments that suppress bone marrow in the last month and do not plan to start them during the trial.
