Who can take part

  • You must have a diagnosis of myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) that is considered very low, low, or intermediate risk.
  • Your bone marrow has less than 5% blast cells and your blood has less than 1% blast cells.
  • You have low hemoglobin (60 to 100 grams per liter) and meet specific transfusion needs based on your group: no recent transfusions, low transfusion need, or high transfusion need.
  • You must be well enough to perform daily activities (ECOG score of 0, 1, or 2) and if the fatigue is related to anemia.
  • You cannot have been treated with certain drugs (like azacitidine, decitabine, lenalidomide, luspatercept, or sotatercept) before.
  • You must not be pregnant or breastfeeding, and if you can have children, you must use effective birth control.
