Who can take part
- You have been diagnosed with MDS (a blood disorder) and are at very low, low, or intermediate risk.
- Your MDS is not the type caused by previous chemotherapy or radiation (secondary MDS), and you do not have the 5q deletion.
- You have not used certain treatments before, including azacitidine, decitabine, lenalidomide, luspatercept, or sotatercept.
- Your anemia is due to MDS, not from other causes like iron deficiency or kidney problems.
- Depending on your group, you have received either no blood transfusions in the past 16 weeks or a certain number of transfusions in the past 8 weeks.
- Your hemoglobin level is between 60 and 100 g/L (about 6 to 10 g/dL).
