Who can take part
- You must have a coronary CT scan or coronary angiogram showing either very significant narrowing or no significant narrowing
- To be in one of the study groups, your age and risk factors must match that group (age limits differ by sex)
- You must not have diabetes if you are in the “very severe” groups (diabetes is allowed in one higher-risk group)
- You must not use tobacco products (including smoking or chewing tobacco)
- You must have no history of stroke (CVA) or poor blood flow to the legs (PAD) for the groups that require it
- You cannot have certain conditions such as cancer history, autoimmune disease, active infections (like TB/hepatitis/HIV), major lung disease needing long-term oxygen, or severe psychiatric illness
