Treating infection in the aorta or iliac arteries

Aortic Diseases

Part of Heart & circulation clinical trials.

This trial studies a surgical product made from animal tissue to treat infections involving the aorta and nearby blood vessels. It may help people whose grafts or weak spots (aneurysms) are infected.

Who can take part

  • You have an infection involving the aorta (the main artery in the body)
  • The infection is in the aorto-iliac area (aorta and/or nearby iliac arteries)
  • Your doctor suspects a mycotic aneurysm, meaning an aneurysm (bulge) caused by infection
  • You have aortic graft infection, meaning a prior surgical graft is infected
  • There are clear signs that an infection is present (not just a history of it)

NCT05777447Recruiting
Study for infected aorta/iliac aneurysm after in-place repair

This study looks at treatment outcomes for people whose aorta or iliac artery aneurysm became infected (a “mycotic” aneurysm) and who were treated with an in-place repair. It may help doctors understand the best way to manage this rare condition after surgery.

Roma, RM
NCT05660733Recruiting
Study of infections of the aorta and large arteries

This trial studies how to care for infections that involve the aorta or other large blood vessels. If you have signs and test results that fit this diagnosis, you may be invited to help researchers better understand the condition and treatments.

Vandœuvre-lès-Nancy, Lorraine
NCT00583817Enrolling by invitation
Endovascular repair for thoracic aortic aneurysms and dissections

This study tests whether repairing an enlarged or tearing (dissection) thoracic aorta using a catheter-based procedure can be safer for people who are high-risk for open surgery. It uses specialized stent grafts placed through blood vessels to seal the problem and prevent complications.

Boston, Massachusetts
NCT02323581Recruiting
Stent procedure for large aortic aneurysms with custom grafts

This trial studies a less invasive “through-the-blood-vessel” stent graft procedure for large aneurysms in the main aorta or the aortic arch. It may help reduce the risk of aneurysm rupture while avoiding open surgery for people at higher surgical risk.

New York, New York
NCT07064460Recruiting
Custom stent graft for complex aortic aneurysm repair

This trial tests a custom-made stent graft to repair complex aortic aneurysms that are hard to treat with standard surgery. It may help people who are at high risk for open surgery due to age, health, or past abdominal surgeries.

Durham, North Carolina
NCT02043691Recruiting
Testing specialized grafts to repair complex aortic problems

This trial studies different custom and modified stent-grafts (tiny metal-reinforced tubes placed inside the aorta) to repair difficult aortic aneurysms and dissections. It aims to see which approach best fits your aortic shape and helps keep blood flowing safely.
