This study tests a patient-focused approach to help couples where alcohol misuse and relationship physical harm may be happening. You may be asked to take part in sessions focused on safety, coping, and relationship communication, and some components may include controlled alcohol exposure.

Who can take part
- You’re 21 or older and can join with any gender identity.
- In the last 30 days, you had at least two heavy drinking episodes (based on standard drink amounts).
- You and/or your partner report at least one physical incident of partner violence in your current relationship.
- At least one person in the couple has PTSD or near-PTSD symptoms (for about half of couples).
- If your group includes alcohol administration, you agree not to drive or operate machinery for the rest of the visit day.
