Who can take part
- You (or your legal representative) can sign consent to join the study.
- You have Takotsubo (stress cardiomyopathy) or sepsis with heart weakness after sepsis.
- For Takotsubo: your heart scan/ECG/blood tests suggest temporary heart muscle changes, and blockages or a tear in artery plaque do not explain it.
- For sepsis: you have sepsis with serious organ stress, and you may need medicines to keep blood pressure up plus a high lactate level.
- You must not have another clear explanation for your symptoms (no alternate diagnosis).
- If you can become pregnant or are breastfeeding, PET may not be allowed; also, you should not have conditions expected to shorten survival to less than 1 year.
