Who can take part

  • Be between 50 and 85 years old (or be an eligible partner age 18+)
  • Be in the right group: probable Alzheimer’s, semantic variant primary progressive aphasia, or a matched healthy person
  • Have no major problem hearing or seeing that would stop MRI testing or study tasks
  • Not be under a court/administrative order that limits your freedom (deprivation of liberty)
  • If you use certain regular medicines, be willing to have the study team review whether they could affect brain/cognition
  • No major psychiatric illness in the last 10 years, and no major neurological conditions like stroke or seizures
