Testing next-generation sequencing in neutropenic sepsis

You may be considered if you develop fever or sepsis quickly (within 24 hours) while your counts are low.

Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older
  • You can give consent, or a suitable representative can if you cannot
  • Your lab results show low neutrophils (ANC under 500) or, if ANC isn’t available, high enough to qualify as low white cells (WBC under 1000)
  • You have fever or sepsis that started less than 24 hours ago
  • This is your first qualifying episode during this hospital stay (not a second fever episode)
