Who can take part
- You have NASH confirmed by a recent liver biopsy (done within 32 weeks before screening) with specific scores for fat, inflammation, and scarring.
- You can speak and read Dutch or English and understand the study well enough to consent.
- You have not had heavy alcohol use in the past year (more than 2 drinks/day if female, more than 3 drinks/day if male for over 3 straight months).
- You do not have certain other liver diseases or liver cancer, and you have not had a liver transplant or are on the transplant waiting list.
- You have not used pre-, pro-, or synbiotics; and you have not used certain medicines recently (including antibiotics in the last 3 months) or taken excluded medications like tamoxifen, methotrexate, or amiodarone.
