- You have fatty liver disease confirmed by ultrasound or a special scan.
- You have metabolic syndrome: a waist size over 80 cm (women) or 94 cm (men), plus at least two of the following: high blood pressure, high blood sugar, abnormal cholesterol or triglycerides.
- You do not drink more than 30 grams of alcohol per day (men) or 20 grams per day (women).
- You do not have other liver diseases like hepatitis or cirrhosis.
