Who can take part

  • Be an adult age 19 to 65
  • If you have type 2 diabetes: your A1C must be between 6.5% and 11% and controlled with diet only (no diabetes medicines)
  • Eat three regular meals per day
  • You must not have stomach or intestinal problems like inflammatory bowel disease or bowel blockage history
  • Be able to avoid all supplements that can affect blood sugar during the study
  • Have no recent travel abroad or recent surgery within the past 4 weeks
