Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 75 years old.
  • You have been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes for at least 3 months.
  • You have been managing your diabetes with only diet and exercise (no diabetes pills or insulin) for the past 3 months.
  • Your HbA1c (average blood sugar over 3 months) is between 7.5% and 10.5%.
  • Your body mass index (BMI) is 23 or higher and your weight has been stable (not changed more than 5%) for the last 3 months.
  • You are not pregnant or planning pregnancy, and you agree to use reliable birth control during the study and for 6 months after.
