Who can take part

  • You must be able to speak English
  • A parent/guardian must be able to give informed consent
  • Your baby must be born at 35 weeks or later (not very premature)
  • The baby must not have neonatal encephalopathy (a specific serious brain condition in newborns)
  • The participant must not be pregnant (if the participant would be under 18) and must not be a person in prison
  • There must be no active severe mental health symptoms like psychosis, mania, or suicidal thoughts, and no active substance dependence
