Who can take part

  • Be age 18–75 and able to give informed consent
  • Have a BMI of 25 or higher (overweight or obese)
  • Have prediabetes or type 2 diabetes with an HbA1c between 6.0% and under 9.0%, and your diabetes medicines (if any) must not change in the last 3 months
  • If you could become pregnant: have a negative pregnancy test and use approved birth control during the study
  • Not use insulin for type 2 diabetes, and don’t have type 1 diabetes
  • Be able and willing to follow the program, keep your lifestyle habits as much as possible, and complete study questionnaires/diaries/visits
