Who can take part

  • Baby must be 1 to 24 months old when the fNIRS brain scan is done
  • Baby must have permanent hearing loss in one or both ears
  • You must be a legal representative who can understand the consent form and say yes
  • The fNIRS test is the only study activity for the baby after the scan
  • If you are the managing audiologist for that specific baby, you cannot be in the audiologist study arm for that baby
