Colchicine vs placebo for acute myocarditis

Acute Myocarditis

Treatments studied

Part of Heart & circulation clinical trials.

This trial tests whether colchicine (a medicine that reduces inflammation) improves outcomes in people with acute myocarditis soon after symptoms start. Half of participants get colchicine and half get a placebo to see which works better.

Colchicine for heart inflammation with arrhythmias

This trial tests whether the drug colchicine can help people with heart muscle inflammation (myocarditis) that also causes abnormal heart rhythms, a weak heart pump, or high stress markers. Colchicine is an anti-inflammatory medicine that might reduce heart damage and improve symptoms.
