Who can take part

  • You are 18 or older
  • You have active myocarditis with symptoms like chest pain, heart failure, or abnormal heart rhythm and confirmed by heart MRI or biopsy
  • Your heart pumping function is reduced (left ventricle ejection fraction less than 50%)
  • You have had a normal heart artery test (no significant blockages) in the past year
  • You are not pregnant, breastfeeding, or if you can have children, you use effective birth control
  • You do not have other causes of heart failure or other autoimmune diseases needing steroids
