Study how eye focusing surgery changes OCT measurements

Optical Coherence TomographyRefractive ErrorsMyopia

Part of Eyes & vision clinical trials.

This study looks at how refractive (vision-focusing) surgery affects OCT test images inside the eye. It may help doctors measure and track eye changes more accurately after surgery.

Who can take part

  • You are planning to have refractive surgery on your eyes
  • If both eyes are being operated on, the eye with the higher glasses prescription is the focus
  • Your astigmatism (a specific type of blurry-vision prescription) is 3 diopters or less
  • Your current vision is 20/25 or better

Eye nerve measurements in nearsighted and farsighted adults

This study uses an OCT (a special camera that scans the back of your eye) to measure the thickness of nerve layers in people with nearsightedness (myopia) or farsightedness (hyperopia). It helps doctors understand how different prescriptions affect eye structures.

Eye Surgery Alignment Study for Nearsightedness

This study tests whether a small adjustment during laser eye surgery for nearsightedness improves your vision outcomes. You'll be randomly assigned to receive either standard surgery or surgery with a minor compensation adjustment, and researchers will compare how well you see afterward.

Study of myopia control lenses in children

This study tests how well children adapt to special myopia control lenses. It aims to see if these lenses are comfortable and easy to wear for kids with nearsightedness.

Using a scan to guide eye surgery in real time

This trial tests whether a special eye scan (OCT) can help guide eye surgery during the operation. It may improve how surgeons see and target the exact eye structures they need to treat.

Tracking eye blood-flow changes in high myopia scans

This study follows people with high nearsightedness (high myopia) to see how blood flow in the eye changes over time using special scan images. It may help doctors better understand eye changes in high myopia and improve monitoring in the future.

Test eye scans to choose the right cataract lens power

This study is looking at how special eye scans (optical coherence tomography, or OCT) can help doctors calculate the correct power of a cataract lens after you’ve had laser vision correction before. It may help improve how well your new lens matches your eye after prior laser treatment.
