This study tests whether a small adjustment during laser eye surgery for nearsightedness improves your vision outcomes. You'll be randomly assigned to receive either standard surgery or surgery with a minor compensation adjustment, and researchers will compare how well you see afterward.

Who can take part
- Age 18–40 years old
- Nearsightedness (myopia) or nearsightedness with astigmatism that has been stable for at least 1 year
- Vision problem severe enough to qualify for SMILE laser surgery but correctable to 20/20 or better
- Healthy corneas (clear front of eye) with thickness suitable for surgery
- A small natural eye misalignment (between 0.10–0.20 mm) that the study is specifically investigating
- No prior eye surgery, serious eye injury, eye disease, or health conditions affecting healing
