Nutrition plus early therapy for adults in long ICU stays
Treatments studied
Part of Hormones & metabolism clinical trials.
This trial studies whether a planned nutrition plan, along with early physiotherapy (physical therapy), can improve outcomes for adults who expect to stay in the ICU for at least 7 days. It includes people who need feeding through a tube and/or special IV nutrition while on a breathing machine.

This trial tests whether providing nutrition that is precisely matched to your body's energy needs can improve recovery for patients on breathing machines. It uses a special test to measure your metabolism and adjust the feeding accordingly.
This study tests if a special nutrition program helps people who have been in the ICU recover better when they move to a regular hospital ward. It looks at how well your body uses food and if this improves your recovery.
This study looks at how nutrition is given to adults in the intensive care unit (ICU). It aims to understand current practices and may help improve care for future patients.
This study tests whether a personalized nutrition plan from a dietitian for 6 months can help people who have been seriously ill in the ICU recover better. It focuses on patients who had organ failure and who live in Norway.
This trial tests whether electrical muscle stimulation plus extra protein (protein substitute) can improve muscle health and metabolism in critically ill adults in the ICU. If you’re newly admitted and expected to stay on a breathing machine for several days, it may help you keep more muscle strength during recovery.
This trial compares giving tube feeding continuously versus taking breaks to see which approach helps critically ill patients' metabolism better. It is for adults in the ICU who need a breathing tube and will be fed through a stomach tube.
