Who can take part
- You must be over 18 years old.
- You have been diagnosed with liver cirrhosis.
- You have refractory ascites, meaning your belly fluid hasn’t improved despite the highest tolerable doses of diuretics and you often need drainage (paracentesis).
- Your ascites should not be caused by heart problems or cancer.
- You should not have had a TIPS procedure (a liver-to-vein shunt) within the past 3 months.
