Checking muscle loss using a leg measurement and body scan

Who can take part

  • Be 75 years or older
  • Be currently hospitalized (medical ward, follow-up care, or rehabilitation) at the Hospital Center of Orléans
  • Have signs of not getting enough nutrition that doctors think may be causing problems
  • Have reduced muscle strength (as noted by the care team)
  • Be able and willing to do the X-ray–based scan (DXA), including being able to sit/lie safely for the test
  • Not have certain other undernutrition markers (like very low BMI or significant recent weight loss)
