Who can take part

  • You have a glioblastoma brain tumor that has come back after initial treatment
  • You had surgery or biopsy and standard radiation therapy for your first treatment
  • You received at least one line of chemotherapy or other therapy after radiation
  • The tumor is in an area that can be mostly removed with surgery (at least 50%)
  • You are well enough to have surgery and are 18 or older
  • Your blood counts and liver/kidney function are within acceptable limits

This trial tests a new approach that combines a drug (SONALA-001 or 5-ALA) with focused ultrasound to treat glioblastoma that has come back or is growing despite standard treatments.
