Who can take part
- You are hospitalized and have AKI at admission, or you develop AKI while in the hospital.
- You need an invasive coronary angiography (a heart catheter scan) during this hospital stay.
- Your kidney function has not been “stable” in the last 24 hours—your blood creatinine level is not unchanged or improving before enrollment.
- You do not have another reason you cannot safely have the heart catheter procedure.
- You have not had contrast dye inside blood vessels in the last 7 days (or within 6 days after a recent angiography).
